At the beginning of June, we threw down the gauntlet for a wellness challenge—but the point, of course, was that we left the details up to you. How do you want to improve yourself? What small steps do you want to take for your overall well-being? #MyNextThirty is a social movement that encourages you to set your sights on a wellness goal—big or small—and commit to it for 30 days. Whether you're aiming to drink more water or try an intimidating workout class (the latter, in my case), the idea is to self-improve and build positive habits, one small, totally doable step at a time.

But in that spirit, we've decided to up the ante and get to know our community a little better by presenting a series of in-studio fitness events in New York and Los Angeles. This week marked our inaugural event at the Chelsea location of Body by Simone in NYC, and it was even more fun than we anticipated.

Keep reading to get the details on our event and to learn how to get in on the next one.

No surprises here: The workout itself was a doozy. BBS instructor Beth led the group through one of the studio's signature 45-minute Full Body classes—a heart-pumping fusion of interval training, muscle conditioning, and dance cardio.

But there was still fun to be had after sweating it out: Next, the group engaged in a discussion about setting wellness intentions before writing their individual #MyNextThirty goals on the studio's mirror. (Pro tip: Nothing breeds motivation like an Instagram op.)

Before sending everyone on their way, we passed out gift bags with some serious beauty and wellness goodies from BBS, Mun Skincare, and Icelandic Water. (Let's just say that Mun's Akwi Purifying Cleanser, $60, and Organic Towel, $10, were the perfect one-two punch after sweating so hard.)

It was a great time, and it was just the beginning: Stay tuned for more #MNT pop-ups in the future, starting with classes in L.A. later this month. Check Byrdie's Facebook page and subscribe to our email list to stay up to date on upcoming events in your city. We'd love to sweat it out with you IRL!
